Deborah L. Squire, MD, CAQSMDeborah L. Squire, MD, CAQSM

Assistant Clinical Professor of Children's Primary Care and Medical Team Physician for Duke University Field Hockey and Duke Women's Basketball
 
Dr. Squire received her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College in 1974. She graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1978. After completing her pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1981, she served as chief resident in pediatrics at Duke the following year. During Dr. Squire's chief year and the following two years of her Robert Wood Johnson General Pediatric Academic Fellowship, she served as a clinical fellow in sports medicine, under the direction of Frank Bassett, III, MD, who was the Duke University Team Physician. She is a founding member and former board member and president of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and is CAQ-qualified in primary care sports medicine. Dr. Squire is active in the educational activities of the sports medicine section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also interested in the adolescent athlete (medical issues as well as musculoskeletal injuries) and the female athlete.
