Professor of Surgery (Orthopaedics); Director, Duke Orthopaedic Residency Training Program; Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon, American Dance Festival
 
Dr. Hardaker received his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine in 1973. After completing a surgical residency in 1975 at Duke Univeristy Medical Center, Dr. Hardaker went on to complete an orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1979. Dr. Hardaker has served as Team Physician at the high school, AAU, and collegiate level and as Event Physician for Junior Olympic, Special Olympic, and NCAA events. Dr. Hardaker serves as Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon for the American Dance Festival and is a member of the Sports Medicine Committee for the North Carolina Medical Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Hardaker's clinical interests include athletic, traumatic, and degenerative conditions of the knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle, with a special interest in arthroscopic management of cartilage and ligament injuries of the knee.
