The Duke Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited program open to physicians who have completed residency training in the fields of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. The purpose of the program is to enable primary care physicians to develop expertise in the area of sports medicine.

The Duke Sports Medicine & Shoulder Fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited program open to physicians who have completed their residency training in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. The goal of the program is enable orthopaedic physicians to develop expertise in the area of Sports Medicine. They will also acquire essential teaching and administrative skills. This is accomplished through the teaching and joint cooperation of a number of outstanding departments at Duke University Medical Center, including Orthopaedic Surgery, Community and Family Medicine, and Pediatrics, as well as the Athletic Departments of Duke University and North Carolina Central University.
